Every musician has a piece of gear they haven’t touched in years but refuse to sell. The pedal with one good sound. The keyboard that weighs as much as a refrigerator. The cable drawer that might someday save civilization.
Adam Puchalski and I took on the question every gear hoarder avoids: What do you do with the old stuff?
The Gear Hoarder Challenge is simple. Pull something off the shelf, plug it in, and make music with it. If it still has a pulse, give it a job. If it doesn’t, maybe it’s time to let someone else hoard it.
Can We Help You?
When does holding onto old gear stop serving your creative work and start getting in its way?

We are grateful you spent this time with us.
If the conversation gave you something to think about, leave a comment, share it with another gear-loving musician, and subscribe for more from Mack-n-Cheeze Music.
