Tell Me No Lies isn’t a timeline—it’s a convergence.
The Process Of ‘Tell Me No Lies’
The song came together the way real work usually does: in layers of intention, revision, patience, and refusal to settle. Originally written by Adam Puchalski and Amy Thurner, the track began as an idea and earned its final form through sweat, listening, and correction. Nothing accidental made it through.
The rhythm section was built at Mackncheeze Music—Adam on guitar, Eric Ritts on bass, and Bryan DeHart on drums. Six hours. No shortcuts. We worked the groove until it stopped arguing back. Every take was interrogated. Every adjustment mattered. When the rhythm finally locked, it wasn’t because the clock ran out—it was because the track stopped asking for more.
From there, Adam took the reins again—layering guitars, shaping space, and recording Amy’s vocals at Windstudio. Amy’s performance carries the emotional gravity of the song without overselling it—controlled, direct, and honest. The restraint is the point.
Then came the finishing work—Adam’s mastering, where clarity replaces clutter and intention sharpens into focus. The mix doesn’t chase volume or trend. It tells the truth it set out to tell.
Visually, the piece is elevated by another striking collaboration—hats off to Cristo Cola for delivering a video that doesn’t explain the song, but inhabits it. No lies. No filler. Just alignment—sound, image, and effort pulling in the same direction.
That’s how this was made.
