Seattle film editor and audio engineer Guy Staley, through Free Electron Media, works across the full range of modern media production — where raw footage, captured sound, and technical craft come together to form finished visual storytelling.

His work spans the entire production process, including pre-production planning, on-site filming, editing, color correction, dialogue editing, sound design, studio engineering, live audio engineering, and final audio mixing and mastering.
In addition to his independent work through Free Electron Media, Staley has also collaborated with Seattle production company ThirdReel, contributing to projects involving camera operation, livestream production, and professional audio engineering.
This conversation explores the craft behind professional media production — the discipline, technical decisions, and long hours that shape a project from raw material into a finished piece of work.
Because in media production, the real work rarely happens in the spotlight. It happens in the control room, behind the camera, and in the editing process where sound, image, and story finally lock into place.
