Mack-n-Cheeze Music Presents: Filmmaker Randy Sage

Filmmaker Randy Sage | Mack-n-Cheeze Music

I interviewed Randy Sage in June 2021. COVID was still controlling daily life, Washington had not fully reopened, and Randy was early in his filmmaking career.

Film was not his first creative stop. Randy wrote songs, sang, played several instruments, and composed music. His background also included an internship with producer and recording engineer Sylvia Massy. By the time we spoke, he had added photography, screenwriting, and directing.

Our conversation moved through those interests and the experiences that pushed him toward the camera. He spoke about the work he wanted to do and why he kept pursuing it.

Today, Randy Sage Films has more than 10,000 YouTube subscribers and 247 videos. The channel contains short films and documentaries along with practical videos about cameras, editing, and production. His work ranges from fictional stories to explanations of how those stories were made.
