I have been doing this for a long time, but meeting Darnell Scott was like a paradigm shift. I received a phone call from this unfamiliar person from eastern Washington many years ago. He had found my card on a cork wall of a music store in Wenatchee. Darnell couldn’t find a drummer and pulled a ‘shot-in-the- dark’ gamble in contacting me.

I’m going to be honest. What was once arbitrary turned into one of the best friendships I have ever had. We have had a beautiful connection. Darnell and I know our fates are intertwined. I love this man.

From the first day I met him, I told him what we should pursue this, and here we are, seeking it. We didn’t know it at the time, but on his front porch, brushes in my hand and Darnell’s acoustic in his lap, we laughed and giggled because the music felt so good. And now, that is a direction we are heading.

Chemistry speaks volumes. Don’t ever try to squash it.
